RIMLAB Research
Development of Control Software for Coordinating a Robotic Manipulator for Fruit Harvesting
Pioldi, Giuliano
This thesis presents the development of an integrated robotic system for automated tomato harvesting, based on a UR10e manipulator with a soft gripper and advanced sensors integrated via ROS2. A Faster R-CNN-based vision algorithm detects ripe fruits, while joint torque monitoring ensures delicate detachment. Two experimental scenarios were analyzed: with and without resistance during fruit picking. Results highlight the system’s adaptability and robustness under varying field conditions.
